Mackenyu won the hearts of many fans around the world after playing Roronoa Zoro in Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece. Having a naturally cool demeanor, coupled with impeccable swordsmanship, he really brought Zoro to life perfectly. Born in Los Angeles with the legendary actor Sonny Chiba as his father (millennials may know him from Kill Bill), Mackenyu has made a name for himself thanks to his many roles which I listed below. But this November, his Filipino fans will get to see him at the Mackenyu Fan Meet in Manila that will be held in SM Mall of Asia Arena on November 20, 2023, thanks to MediaKing Corp. and Luxe Slim.

Below are the ticket prices, seat plan, and fan perks at the Get Closer to Mackenyu:

While you wait, you may want to check out these movies and series starring Mackenyu:

  1. Rurouni Kenshin: The Final (2021) – Some of you may have known him in One Piece, but many have already fallen in love with Mackenyu’s chaotic Enishi who serves as a direct opposite to Kenshin’s calm and composed character. He does excel in villainous roles, blending charisma with wickedness.
  2. Chihayafuru Trilogy (2016-2018) – This is where Mackenyu got his big break in Japan. The first movie earned him the Newcomer of the Year award in the 2017 Japan Academy Film Prize ceremony.
  3. Our 30-Minute Sessions (2020) – If you like the animated film “Your Name,” you’ll like this film too. But it goes for a goes for a deeper approach.
  4. Overdrive (2018) – Honestly, this movie got a popularity boost thanks to One Piece and those TikTok edits.
  5. 12 Suicidal Teens (2019) – This movie is well-received for its intriguing plot, suspenseful atmosphere, and thought-provoking themes surrounding life, death, and personal redemption.

BONUS: Peach Girl (2017) and Fullmetal Alchemist: The Revenge of Scar (2022).
